Yesterday we celebrated Logan’s 4th birthday with a house full of people. Actually, kids out numbered adults. It was wild. Since Buffalo has been anything but sunny lately, we had a plan B with a bounce house in the basement to ensure the kids had something to do and us adults had some chance of keeping our sanity. Where the title of this post comes from is the notion that 5 years ago our parties looked like this in Vegas…..

And there were more kids upstairs! We were all laughing about how times have changed. My Mom said to me this morning she was used to hearing us girls talk about where we were going to go out and now she listened to all of us talking about which child had gone to the potty when.
What is so wonderful about true, special friends is that we help each other through ups and down. From high school and college break ups, to fertility issues, to parental health problems, to celebrating weddings, births and work accomplishments. We don’t have hours to sit and chat leisurely over a glass of wine, but we do have time to chat while our kids run around and become the next generation of friends.
Friends are the family we find along the way. I am so Blessed to have such a large family- now made even bigger with those cute party hat friends. I will say, we do make cute kids.
